“What does inspiration mean to d'orsay?” Inspiration means alot, its the means by which we can produce such high quality products. Without a driving force of inspiration, we wouldn't be as good at what we're doing!

Inspiration is sometimes hard to come by, but when it comes, it’s a wonderful adventure. When it comes to web development, graphic arts, logo’s etc; our inspiration is typically drawn from our clients’ vision. Our process is not the same as most web developers, when we take our clients’ vision and use it as inspiration; we create a profile (template) for the client to look at. Usually; that profile meets the expectation of the client, when it doesn’t its back to the drawing board.

One would imagine this to be a long drawn out process, but when we’re inspired and our creativity is flowing from our fingers and hands to our computers and drawing pads, our profile time is relatively short. This is a good thing for matters of expediency or urgency.

“What makes me design?” This is a question I get asked quite often, more than “where does your inspiration come from?” This is my personal creative outlet; it’s a passion of mine. Some people are passionate about politics, autos, even their careers. I’m passionate about making people happy with my art and creativity.

“What sources do you get inspiration from?” There are a lot of places for me to find inspiration, anything from a clients enthusiasm to driving down the street. It mostly, just shows up in the nick of time! When I create a profile, I have a process, which usually helps to turn on the creative muse. I open my programs, get comfortable in my chair and turn on some music, depending on what I want to create; it'll be classical, pop, indy alternative, grunge, rock or even big band/jazz. Setting the mood to let the creative thoughts flow can sometimes be hard, but it does always happen in the nick of time. The good thing is; once I get inspiration; I can use it on more than one project over a period of time! Strange stuff... inspiration and muses are.
